Forum Title: Mohawk Aladdin Opinion
I am, at present, planning the construction of a new home some 1400 miles from where I live now. The company that is building the home has some standard selections for the interior but I can upgrade to anything I may choose if I want. The carpet line that they use is Mohawk Aladdin - Optimum Effect, Style IQ17. ( Effect/Arrowhead/ ) I have to say that the Mohawk website is not very helpful when it comes to screening out the density of carpets or even the pile heights. In another posting, it was stated that this is a commercial carpet but I cannot find it listed on the website that was posted in that posting. ( Commercial Carpet Search, Find Commercial Carpet, Commercial Carpet in All Colors | Mohawk Flooring ) What I can tell you is that the carpet is polyester, twisted yarn, durable & resilient for most home activities, has scotchgard and a pile height of 0.465 inches. The warranty is lifetime for Anti-Static, Soil Resistance, Stain Resistance & Pet Urine Resistance. The warranty is 10 years for Fade-Resistance, Abrasive Wear, Manufacturing Defects & Texture Retention. The carpet in question will be in the bedrooms of the house, which from my understanding, is considered a low traffic area. There will only be my husband and myself living in the home. Unfortunately, any reviews I have read about this carpet have not been favourable but I understand that you rarely hear the positive over the negative. Does anyone have experience with this product? Based on the information, will this carpet outlast the warranty or need to be replaced in 5 years? Opinions are greatly appreciated. Thank you

Appears to be a basic P.E.T. Polyester builder grade carpet, it is definitely NOT a commercial product. It wouldn't be my choice for a home I planned on living in for any amount of time.
